OPI: Man of La Mancha

Hi lovelies,

So you all probably know by now that once in a while I search the web to find some of my never ending lemmings. If I manage to find one or two, they’re often being sold for a crazy high price. And although I absolutely love to add them to my collection, I still am not going to pay a ridiculous amount of money for them. OPI‘s Man of La Mancha was on my wishlist for a very long time. This black label polish was discontinued a long time ago and has that typical strong scent to it. This one isn’t too bad though compared to the other oldies that I have. For my photo’s below I applied two thin coats over a black base and topped it with one coat of top coat:opi - man of la manchaThis also has a golden sheen to it which my camera couldn’t pick up. It is absolutely gorgeous!opi - man of la mancha2What do you think of this one?

And what’s your number 1 lemming? Mine is Rouge Louboutin by Christian Louboutin… *dreams on*

OPI: Thoroughly Modern Millie

Hiiii!

Today I have an oldie to show you. As you might know I love to collect old polishes. You know, the hard to find ones that are mostly discontinued. In case of OPI’s, give me all the Black Label polishes and I’m a happy girl. Even if they have a weird stinky formula. Yes, I’m weird like that 😉
Thoroughly Modern Millie is one of them. opi - thoroughly modern millie1It belongs to the Holiday on Broadway Collection from 2003 (I believe). If I recall correctly I purchased this together with La Boheme as a set. That one was on my wish list for a very long time. Such a beauty!
Anyway, this is a sheer slightly tinted base with silver micro glitter. The sheer base is somewhat duochrome. In some angles it seems pink/purple while in other angles I can see hints of green. Very unusual. I applied two coats over black undies here.
The pick below shows the green better:opi - thoroughly modern millie2Any thoughts about old polishes? Do you search the web to find that particular discontinued polish?

OPI: Just Lanai-ing Around – Hawaii Spring 2015 Collection

Hi lovelies,

I have another polish from OPI‘s Hawaii Collection for Spring to show you.opi - just lanai ing around - too much of a good thing1This is two coats of Just Lanai-ing Around. I love these kind of vintage hue’s. The formula is good, as I’m used to with most OPI polishes.
I used a make up sponge to apply Too Much of a Good Thing on the tips of my nails and added one coat of top coat (HK Girl by Glisten & Glow) for a smooth and glossy finish. This glitter topper is part of my Spring Collection which is available at my shop.opi - just lanai ing around - too much of a good thing

OPI: My Gecko Does Tricks + This Color’s Making Waves – Hawaii Spring Summer 2015

Hi lovelies!

I have a fun mani to share with you. I finally gave watermarbling another try and I think these turned out quite pretty:opi - this color s making waves - my gecko does tricksI used two coats of OPI‘s My Gecko Does Tricks as my base color. For the marbled design I also used This Color’s Making Waves. Both polishes are part of the Hawaii Collection for Spring Summer by OPI. If you ignore the few bubbles, these turned out okay… right? I accidentally picked up too much blue and too little green with the design on my ring finger so I fixed that by adding some blue dots 😀 This accident turned out to be a pretty accent nail huh!

Thanks for stopping by! :*

OPI: Go With The Lava Flow – Hawaii Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Today I have another polish from OPI‘s Hawaii Collection to show you. Let’s take a look at Go With The Lava Flow:opi - go with the lava flow1It’s slightly more coral than shown here. This has a gorgeous golden shimmer running throughout which was reason enough for me to pick it up. Sadly, I couldn’t capture it with my camera. The formula is good. I used two coats plus top coat. opi - go with the lava flowWhat do you think of this one?

OPI retails at € 14,95 a bottle here in the Netherlands. I get my OPI’s from Ebay which basically means that I can get three bottles from Ebay for the price of one here in The Netherlands (excl. shipping) 😉 In case your interested, click here to visit my favorite seller’s shop on Ebay.

OPI: Lost My Bikini In Molokini – Hawaii Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Yes! OPI released their Spring/Summer Collection! 12 new polishes to drool over! I picked up 5 and am slapping myself in the face that I skipped That’s Hula-rious!. I thought I didn’t need yet another minty green hue but after seeing more and more swatches I regret passing on it. Well, maybe next time 😉

On to Lost My Bikini In Molokini:
opi - lost my bikini in molokini1Formula is good. I used two coats here. For the ‘splatter’ design I used MoYou stamping plate number 13 from their Princess Collection and purple stamping polish (12) by Mundo De Unas. Speaking of stamping polish, this is my first Mundo De Unas and I love everything about it. It is super pigmented and works perfect with my XL stamper and scraper that I bought at Hypnotic Polish. I can’t wait to get my hands on more colors. They seem to be very popular since they sell out in an eye blink. At least at Hypnotic Polish. opi - lost my bikini in molokini
Lastly, I am dying to know your thoughts about Pineapples Have Feelings Too. You know what I’m talking about, the weirdest yellow/glitter combo existing on the planet. Everyone seems to hate it. I love weird polishes but I’ll pass on that one. The yellow base has a frost (!) finish. If only it was a crelly or even a slightly shimmer finish I think I’d loved it. Such a bummer. Frost finishes are just not my cup of tea.

OPI: First Class Desires – Holiday 2014 Gwen Stefani Collection

Hi lovelies,

Today I have OPI‘s First Class Desires to show you which came out in last years Holiday Collection.

opi - first class desires - tmwtgg1Such a lovely dark purple hue packed with tons of golden shimmer. The formula was great. Two easy coats for full coverage. Instead of a regular top coat I went with The Man With The Golden Gun, also by OPI. I think these two are meant for each other, don’t you agree?opi - first class desires - tmwtggThanks for stopping by! Have a great Sunday! :*

OPI: I Carol About You + Snow Globetrotter

Here’s a combo of two of the Holiday 2014 (Gwen Stefani) Collection by OPI:opi - i carol about you - snow globetrotter1I used two coats of I Carol About You for my base color and added one coat of Snow Globetrotter on my accent nail. Snow Globetrotter is such a gorgeous glitter topper. It contains white and iridescent hex glitter in a variety of sizes. If you’re a fan of glitter toppers then this would be a nice addition to your stash. The formula of Snow Globetrotter is on the thick side but that didn’t gave me problems with application. opi - i carol about you - snow globetrotterDid you pick up any polishes of last years Holiday Collection?

OPI: Don’t Speak – Gwen Stefani

Oh Em Gee! Another gold leaf top coat! Take a look at OPI‘s Don’t Speak from the Gwen Stefani Collection (Holiday 2014):
opi - don't speak1It’s an 18k gold leaf top coat that is different from The Man With the Golden Gun and Pure. This one has gold leaf flakes along with fine gold shimmer running throughout. This is my favorite from the 3 mentioned. It has more depth due to the fine shimmer and is denser. The formula is perfect. No need to fish in the bottle, dab or replace the gold particles. This is one easy coat over ANNY’s Bloody Return.

It comes in a gold bottle that is packaged in a collectors box:opi - don't speak bottle2Gotta love this fancy box, especially if you’re a hoarder like me 😀
opi - don't speakWhat do you think of this one? Which gold leaf top coat is your favorite?

OPI: Skating On Thin-Island + My Voice Is A Little Norse

Hi everyone!

You’ve probably already seen OPI‘s newest collection for Fall, the Nordic Collection.
And again I wasn’t over the moon excited about the colors. Out of the twelve polishes I picked the four that really caught my eye. Here are the first two:opi - skating on thin ice-land - my voice is a little norseThe base is two coats of Skating on Thin Ice-Land, which is a purple cream. Not very special but I just love purple so I needed to have this one. The formula is great. This is two easy coats. To make this mani more interesting I created a glitter gradient with My Voice Is A Little Norse. This is a holographic top coat. It’s quite dense so I think this can be worn on it’s own with three (?) coats. opi - skating on thin ice-land - my voice is a little norse1Did you picked up polishes from this collection? Which one(s)?
