Llarowe: Lethal

Hi lovelies!

Every day I see more and more gorgeous mani’s created with nail vinyls. So I finally decided to order some and give them a go. cbl - lethal - mark needs love too 1I started with one coat of Lethal by Llarowe over a black base and topped it with fast drying top coat. Then I used the oval cyclone vinyls by TwinkledT and applied Mark Needs Love Too, also by Llarowe. Top coat and done! 😀 Obviously I need to practice the placement of the vinyls some more but I’m pretty pleased with how these turned out. cbl - lethal - mark needs love tooWhat do you think of these? do you have any experience with nail vinyls?
TwinkledT nail vinyls are available at their website, in case you’re interested.

I also ordered the heart beat ones and am excited to try them out 🙂

MAC: Monday Blues

Hi lovelies,

I’ve been stamping again! This time I went with a gradient look by using three different stamping polishes:mac - monday blues1For my base I used two coats of Monday Blues by MAC.
Stampingplate is number 04 from the ProXL range by MoYou and I used three stamping polishes by Mundo De Unas:
24 Aqua, 1 White and 5 Turquoise.
To get a gradient effect I randomly added dots of the three colors on the image and scraped from one corner to the other so that the colors slightly bleed into each other. mac - monday blues

Blobbicure

Hello beauties!

Today I have my first blobbicure to share with you:anny - blobbicureI used Die for high heels by ANNY as my base colors and Deep in love (orange) and Indian sun (yellow), also by ANNY.

I thought this technique was more difficult than it turned out to be. I found that it’s best to use polishes that are more fluid (newer polishes for example). I started with one coat of my base color and gave it a while to dry. Then I applied one more (generous) coat of my base color (one nail at a time!) and applied the other two colors while the base was still wet. I simply used the brush of the polish itself for this. Give it a while to dry and then add top coat for extra shine 😀

Have you tried this technique yet?

Super Easy Water Marble, for real!

Watermarble nail art… A hot mess? Fail? 9 times out of ten yes. But here’s a super easy technique with NO mess, NO bubbles and NO screw ups. For real! llarowe - watermarble1I used three coats of Barney by Llarowe as my base color. For the marble design I also used Vivian + Edward and What’s Your Dream?, both by Llarowe. How to? Go ahead and create your design in a cup of room temperature water as you’d do with a ‘regular’ watermarble. Let it dry for a few minutes. If the design got stuck to the side walls of the cup, now is the time to gently make sure it get’s ‘loose’ from the side walls. Now let it dry for another 15 minutes or so. When dry, gently pick up the design with tweezers and blow dry of pat dry with for example a piece of kitchen paper. When the design is dry you can cut it into pieces as desired. You can even cut it in the shape of your entire nail(s) to get a full coverage ‘decal’. Apply top coat and place the pieces on the nail. Finish with top coat and you’re done! llarowe - watermarbleHave you already used this technique? If not, just give it a try 😉

Acid Wash Mani

Hi lovelies!

First of all I’d like to THANK YOU all so much for your support with the launch of Keep S’Myelin! So many of you supported me and therefore also the National Multiple Sclerosis Society that it just made me speechless. I might have needed a tissue at some point.
The first batch sold out fast and now I’m busy mixing another batch. For that reason it became a pre order which means that future orders of Keep S’Myelin will take 5-10 business days to ship. It will still be available until the end of this month. Then I will make the donation to the NMSS and will e-mail the confirmation to everyone who’s purchased one or more bottles.
THANK YOU! You guys rock!

I think a year (or maybe even two) has past since I did a so called acid wash mani. Since it’s such an awesome look I decided to give it another try.

llarowe opi anny1How on earth did you do this, you ask? It’s super easy actually but it does ask for patience. Choose the colors you’d like to work with, here I’ve used three. Start with the first color and make sure it’s opaque. Finish with one coat of (fast drying) top coat and give it approx. ten minutes to dry thoroughly. Then apply your second color and wait for it to dry. Same goes for the third color. Now, let the fun part begin. Take a qtip, dipped in acetone or nail polish remover and gently ‘remove’ the layers of polish until you get the desired look. Finish with top coat and you’re done! 😀

The polishes that I’ve used here are:
Liquor is Quicker by Llarowe
What else by ANNY
My Dogsled Is A Hybrid by OPIllarowe opi annyThanks for stopping by! :*

Nail Art with POW! nail vinyls

More and more brands are coming up with nail vinyls in the most awesome designs. While browsing at The Nailista Shop the ‘POW! nail stickers’ caught my eye. I decided to create some ‘Pow! Boom! Wow!’ -or whatever you’d like to call it- nail art with them. Here’s how it turned out:pow1Not perfect but I like how these turned out. I started with painting each nail in two different colors of nail polish and topped it with one coat of a fast drying top coat. When that was completely dry I applied the nail vinyls in such a way that the two base colors met in between the two vinyls. Then I applied black nail polish, removed the vinyls and waited for it to dry. Meanwhile I used a dotting tool to add some dots. Finish with top coat and done!

Polishes used:
ANNY: What else (white)
ANNY: Die for high heels (red)
OPI: The IT Color (yellow)
China Glaze: Liquid Leather (black)

powWhat do you think of these?

Summer Nail Art with ANNY polishes

Hi beauties!

Finally we can enjoy some sunbeams. I hope that it’s as sunny where you are as it is here. And although it isn’t Summer yet, I always feel the urge to wear bright polishes as soon as the first sunbeams make their appearance. So here’s a Summer-y nail art:anny4For this many I used five different nail polishes, all by ANNY:
What else (white)
Indian sun (yellow)
Scandalous lives of N.Y. (coral pink)
Sunset dreaming (pink)
Surfing crocodile (green)

For the design I used dotting tools and for the ‘leafs’ I used a small nail art brush to smudge the white and green. anny3anny1What do you think of these floral nails?

El Corazon: 421/3 multi – Art Top Coat + transfer foil

Hi everyone!

I hope you’ve all had a blast this Christmas 🙂

So I thought about creating a fireworks design on my nails. In my head it looked amazeballs, one my nails though, that’s a whole different story. I love how these turned out but let’s be honest… fireworks? Not so much.
el corazon - 421-3 foil1I started with a black base using Black To The Roots by Catrice. To add some dimensional sparkle I applied one coat of 421/3 Multi, Art op coat by El Corazon. After that was completely dry I added some spots and stripes of glue (for transfer foil) and dabbed on the multi colored foil that I got from Hypnotic Polish. Love the foil!!!
No additional top coat though! I’ve found that ‘wrinkles’ the foil (which is pretty cool by the way, but not what I had in mind for this mani). el corazon - 421-3 foilWhat do you think of my -sort of- fireworks mani?

Eeeek! Happy B-day!

Jems-Bday-Graphic-with-names1Woo hoo! Today is the birthday of the lovely Jemma a.k.a. Eeeek! Congrats honey!
All girls mentioned in the image above have re-created a mani done by Eeeek! How exciting is that?
This one is for you, Jem:
ikatI picked this one mainly because I love the color combo. I am still on the hunt for the perfect medium gray cream. I just can’t believe I don’t already have a nice gray cream. Suggestions are very welcome! The one used for this mani (China Glaze: Pelican Grey) has shimmer, although you can hardly tell from the photo’s. Besides that the formula is so thin that it’s runny. You know, over floating cuticles and all :/ Too bad, because it’s a lovely shade!
For this mani I used the following polishes:
Zoya – Purity (white)
Catrice – Black For Gold (black)
China Glaze – Pelican Gray (gray)
OPI – I Just Can’t Cope-Acabana (yellow)

I’m pleased with the final result but wish I’d used a different black polish because this one was so thickened that it got a bit messy. What do you think?
ikat1Don’t forget to check out the mani’s that the other lovely girls mentioned above have created 😉

Jem, I wish you a fantastic day sweetheart! :*

Animal Print mani for Fall – Tutorial

Hi everyone!

Animal prints never go out of fashion, do they? I’ve purchased a lot of new fall polishes lately and I thought the three that I used for this mani look so pretty together.
catrice - nail art fall 2014 1Since it’s so easy to create this sort of animal print I thought it would be nice to add a video tutorial.

How to
:

  • Apply a base coat to protect your nails and wait for it to dry.
  • Apply your base color and let it dry.
  • Use a dotting tool and your first color of nail polish to randomly add spots on your nails.
  • Use a slightly smaller dotting tool and the second color of nail polish to sort of outline the spots. I personally like to just randomly apply the polish but that’s all up to you.
  • Once your design is dry, add a coat of your favorite top coat and you’re done! Easy, right?! 😀

Products used:

  • Base coat (drugstore);
  • Catrice: Greige! The New Beige (base color);
  • Catrice: Lost ‘N Roses (accent nail);
  • Catrice: Out of the Dark;
  • Catrice: First Class Up-Grape;
  • Glisten & Glow: HK Girl (top coat);
  • Two sized dotting tool;
  • Cuticle Oil.

Suggestions for upcoming tutorials are more than welcome! 😉
